Quasi-conductor are the detached type of substances. In the first time this unique type was discovered in the 1890's but more completely it began to be researched just after the First World War in Europe and in Soviet Union. In 1923 Russian scientists proved the ability of usage of semiconductor-metal contacts to accelerate the producing of fluctuations. But such devices as igct that are utilized nowadays were invented considerably later. Only in the beginning of the 60's with the appearing of transistors in 1949 the broad usage of crystal detectors began. That was the start of the epoch of semiconductor technologies.

The interest to optical features of semiconductors revived because of research of induced emission in semiconductors. It caused the creation of semiconductor laser system based on usage of p - n barriers and then on heterojunction.
